Randall, Marta, Lois, and Michael set out for what should be a simple job: escorting Lord William's spring caravan to Ciutat del Rei, the capital of Terra de Gossos. The only reason for hiring them is that the caravan master is Lord William's fourteen-year-old son, Lord Seth, and their job is more about keeping the young cougar noble out of trouble than preventing trouble for the caravan.

However, a series of mysterious fires started even before they left their own kingdom, hinting that this will be anything but a simple journey.
