In this book, I pay homage to my favorite pastime, collecting baseball cards. After giving up the hobby during the "Junk Wax Era" in the late 1980s, I returned more than three decades later to one of my favorite childhood activities. As I traversed and embraced the profit-driven, modern-day hobby, I rekindled my passion for collecting sports cards. If you enjoy collecting baseball, football, basketball, ice hockey, soccer, or even tennis sports cards, this book was written for you.

A club is an association of people united by a common interest or goal. There are clubs devoted to hobbies, sports, social activities, politics and religions. Some clubs are private and some are open to the public. Unlike the fraternity and sorority social clubs at colleges and universities across the United States, the Sports Card Collectors Club does not give out membership bids. There is no initiation ritual, and you don't even need to pay an annual membership fee. If you have a passion for collecting sports cards, you are in! It doesn't matter if you are a vintage baseball card collector, an ultra-modern football card flipper, a long-term soccer or ice hockey card investor or even a live selling basketball hobby box breaker, everyone that loves trading cards is welcome in The Sports Card Collector Club!
