Mere days ago, Celeste had vowed never to let her body touch the Seelie King Gabriel's again, never to let him kiss her lips, and only to see him as her enemy. But, unfortunately, she wasn't great at keeping her vows these days when every cell of her body betrayed the things she set her mind to accomplish. Staying away from Gabriel was just another one of those things.
Why can't I resist him?
But when being close to him fills up all of her emptiness, overflows her heart with love and desire, she can't help but wonder if she is a fool to cling to discovering the truth about her parent's death.
What if Gabriel did murder them?
Celeste must know the truth, even if she discovers the worst.
Quickly her troubles compound when Thomas goes missing. Determined to retrieve her son, her quest puts her directly in the hands of the men claiming her and the men who have betrayed her.

Will her choices and past come back to haunt her?

A Seelie King should not fear anything, but Gabriel is terrified that Celeste will never accept that the things he did were to protect her and give her son the advantages he deserved as a newly named Fae Prince. Everything he has done was to keep her safe, and all of his efforts now are in vain, only succeeding in driving a wedge deeper between them.
There has to be a way into Celeste's heart, something that will help her forget about the things she doesn't remember, and Gabriel decides to honor her son. Despite the pain of knowing the child should have been his, he is determined to provide Thomas everything he is deserved had he been born the true son of the Seelie King and Queen.
But, like all of Gabriel's intentions, this too backfires and not only pushes Celeste away further but also leaves him fighting for his life while Thomas has gone missing. He knows Celeste will not take caution to save her son.

How can Celeste ever love him again when he has failed her and now her son?
