The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) is a Eurasian political, economic, and military organization which was founded in 2001 in Shanghai by the leaders of China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan. This book, written by leading researchers from China, provides an overview on the current international and regional situations and the complex changes in the geopolitical and economic patterns faced by the SCO, in-depth views on the impact of regional hot-spot issues, and major events in the development of the SCO. It also gives a comprehensive introduction to intra-SCO cooperation and the vigorous progress that has been achieved in the fields of security, military, economy, transportation, education, and culture.
