Lulu has two cats, Whitey and Blackie, respectively a white cat and a black cat. She does not like the black cat and does not trust it either. She adores the white cat and regards it as beautiful. As far as she is concerned, these two cats are not created in the same way. In this book she explains to her mother why she thinks the white cat is better than the black cat. The mother explains that these cats are alike; the only difference is the colour of their skin. The purpose of the book is to open children's mind-sets in understanding that there is no difference between white and black races. We are all people and we are created in the same manner. We are not supposed to ill-treat each other and no one should be treated better than the other, because we are the same creatures. The only difference is the colour of our skin. We hope that this book will bring lively debates among our children that will remove discrimination, stereotypes and different treatment, so that they grow up respecting one another. No child should think that he or she is better than the other and no child should be undermined by others.
