The brave firefighters and paramedics of Howe County Firefighters are pulling together and rebuilding their lives after the disastrous death of Fire Chief John Brewer. New Fire Chief Duke Broebeck is stepping in to fill John's shoes and hiring new people as others leave the service.

Allison Metcalfe fits right into this hornet's nest of interpersonal tension and explosive drama. Her lively sense of humor and friendly, outgoing nature makes her a perfect fit for the closely knit crew.

Firefighter Caleb Watts thinks so, too. In fact, Caleb develops an instant attraction for Allison and becomes convinced that she's a perfect fit for him, too.

There's just one problem. She's already engaged to a doctor from Howe County Hospital and her fiancé is not happy about Caleb paying Allison so much attention. When the two men come to blows, the resulting clash could plunge Howe Firehouse back into a disaster from which it might never recover.
