England and appeals to King Henry II for help. King Henry sends one of his trusted military commanders, Sir Cort Guyot, and a detachment When King Moran O'Kelly loses the battle for his Irish Kingdom, Callinon, he flees to of Norman troops to secure O'Kelly's interests.

Grateful to the Norman Knight for restoring his home, O'Kelly promises him his daughter Rhiannon's hand in marriage, thus establishing that Cort will inherit his Irish kingdom.

Rhiannon isn't happy to learn of the deal her father struck with Cort. Yet she understands why Moran has blessed their betrothal. Additionally, she realizes the Norman's military strength will protect the O'Kelly's landholdings.

Cort finds Princess Rhiannon to be not only beautiful, but headstrong, and he vows to gain her trust. Despite the couple's differences, they begin to respect each other and build a sturdy relationship.

King Henry's visit to Ireland worsens the fiery political state of affairs between the clans. Threats to the couple's happiness loom. Only time will tell if the bonds of love between Rhiannon and Cort are strong enough to conquer the roadblocks that lie ahead.
