This is the 29th novel in the Pitkirtly Mysteries series.
Summer has arrived in Pitkirtly and some people have stopped wearing cardigans. Christopher has mysteriously disappeared from his desk, and Mairead McLeod from the Council has put herself in charge in his absence, on a mission to install a key cabinet and tidy up his inbox. Before long, the police arrive at the Cultural Centre to inform a member of the staff of a grim discovery in her garden. A visitor from Australia causes havoc, and it's up to Amaryllis to foil her plans.
Will Christopher ever return from wherever he's gone? And do people prefer doughnuts to scones or vice versa? These questions, as well as others to do with life and death will all be answered in the end.
