This chapter assesses the often unrecognized and undervalued contribution made by women to (primarily smallholder) farming in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. It reviews the range of challenges they face in securing a fair, safe and rewarding livelihood from agriculture. The chapter also assesses a broad range of potential solutions to address these challenges.
