Excerpt from "The End of a Marriage"
"I started to suspect things about a year after our honeymoon," Georgia continued. "But I didn't start following you until I saw the text message from Clementine."
Carter froze and his already pale skin whitened. Clementine was a girl he'd met a few years ago. She worked at Victoria's Secret and flirted with him when he came in to buy a camisole for Georgia, who never did wear it. They had an affair that lasted six months, and then Clementine stopped returning his calls and messages. He went to the mall looking for her, and her manager told him she'd quit and moved back home to Phoenix.
"Clementine? I don't know what you're talking about..."
"Don't lie to me!"
Georgia shrieked so loudly that Carter flinched. She picked the knife back up and threw it at him. He ducked and the blade stuck into the wall.
"There was Clementine, and then Susanna...you seemed to have a thing for women named after old country songs. This latest one at least has a classy name, Sarah Morella. Is that Italian?"
"You...you knew about Susanna? And Sarah?"
Carter inched away from the knife in the wall and his stomach churned. He wondered if she poisoned the cucumber. Georgia smirked as she took another knife from the drawer.
