Tomás Herrera experienced one tragedy after another in his life. First he lost his parents and landed in foster care. Then his marriage to his childhood sweetheart, Becca, ended when she miscarried. His second wife kidnapped their toddler daughter, Lea. His daughter was four when he learned his second wife had died, and he could finally bring Lea home.

Now Tomás runs a program that teaches life and job skills to aged-out foster youth. His daughter is so traumatized, it's been hard getting her to open up. Then, to his surprise, Becca unexpectedly applies for a teaching job with his program.

He wants to send her packing, but Lea instantly bonds to Becca. Reluctantly, Tomás gives Becca the job for his daughter's sake, but soon discovers his feelings for her never died. Can his heart take another chance at love?
