The sixth of six Maric books called the Unsung Warrior series.

An extremophile organism makes the jump from volcanic vents under the sea to Antarctic caves, and is discovered by US naval operation HighJump in 1948.

In a desperate race across the Greenland ice cap today, Maric and a Canadian Mounties MSERT team are too late to stop a sample of the organism, transplanted to a sea cave, from falling into the wrong hands.

Recruiting a Georgian militia team fighting Jihadist elements in the Caucasus Mountains, Maric and a Grey Ops force must find and destroy the sample before a Chechen warlord weaponises it, creating a new Weapon of Mass Destruction.

This book was first published at Amazon (until their customer reps did crazy things once too often – and this from a maths teacher who is very IT literate). It had an average rating of 4.4/5.0 from 31 reviews when unpublished at the start of 2025.
