When Mabel Delgado runs into her ex-boyfriend Noah Moskowitz in the sweltering summer of 1974, they decide they'll just be friends. It's the perfect arrangement for both of them; Noah is a Vietnam veteran with too much on his mind and after what happened with her husband Mabel can't imagine trusting another man.
