The tenth volume in the series Documenta Q is concerned with the reconstruction of the Q text behind Luke 11:46b-48, 52 par. Matt 23:4, 13, 29-32 ("Woes against the Exegetes of the Law") and Luke 11:49-51 par. Matt 23:34-36 ("Wisdom's Judgment on this Generation"). The thematically related passage Q 11:39a-44 ("Woes against the Pharisees") will be published soon in a separate volume. The International Q Project's presentation of the critical text of Q 11:46b-52, together with the exhaustive history of research on which it is based, will considerably enhance research on the Sayings Gospel Q, the historical Jesus and Jewish-Christian relations. The database and evaluations are expanded and revised versions of those presented and discussed at the meetings of the International Q Project in Claremont, CA 1991 and Washington, D.C. 1993. Just prior to the bibliography at the conclusion of the volume the resultant critical text of Q 11:46b-52 is printed. This Greek text is followed by English, German and French translations. (Lucan chapter and verse numeration is used as a convenience and a mere convention.)
