Thomas, 33, a philosophy professor, leads a quiet and nearly monotonous life in Lyon. One morning, he calls his sister to talk about a childhood memory. His sister? No one knows who she is. Not even his mother. Worse: he can't find a single photo of her. She seems to have never existed.
At first thinking it's some kind of psychological issue, Thomas seeks help, investigates, digs. But each day, another important person vanishes. A childhood friend. An ex he still loved. Then his parents. Only he remembers them.
He desperately tries to leave traces—writing down their names, recording memories—but every trace fades. The words melt away. The videos blur. The names lose their meaning.
One day, he meets a woman, Maëlle, who also seems to remember people who have "disappeared." Together, they search for answers: a dream? collective delusion? divine punishment? time loop? alternate reality?
The ending is devastating: Thomas realizes it's not the world that's forgetting the others—it's he who is slowly fading, doomed to disappear from a world that no longer recognizes him. Until only Maëlle's memory of him remains. A trace of love, in a world without memory.
