Magnus Krum, a twenty-seven-year-old son of a Cuban immigrant mother and Lebanese-Greek father, is hiding from past mix-ups with ICE, the Detroit police, and the Chaldean mob. In Manzanita, Oregon, he meets Hero Wheelwright, a strong-willed parkour traceuse with an even darker past. They become embroiled in a local double murder as they confront issues of loss, love, and identity.
