The World of Lyra is a long-forgotten place of a long-forgotten Empire.

People there often wonder about their earliest times, the times before that, and even before Time Itself.

The earliest Events became stories, stories became legends and legends evolved folklore that inflamed mysteries of the imagination. But many Truths and Knowledge was lost.

A Priest class evolved, clothing the mysteries of the past in intricate liturgies and by formulaic rituals. Rituals and words that soothed the masses, but shaped the destinies of the powerful for millennia.

After all, who is more powerful? The Lord or the ones who advise the Lord?

Others sought stories of powerful devices emanating subtle auras and forces that protected and directed even daily life. Long dormant and scattered, these artificial guardians of immense power awaited focused discipline and incantations of spoken codes to awaken.

A Magician class evolved. They became the very human nexus of these powerful forces; what little they learned to invoke.

And so, this is now the World and Odyssey of Lyra.

She reminds us that the greatest powers can grow from a tiny seed in the most unlikely place.
