Upon arrival, Samuel meets the enigmatic Dr. Winters, who claims Elizabeth was never a patient there. Despite this denial, Samuel stays at the facility to investigate, discovering dark experiments taking place in the mysterious "White Room" on the fourth floor of the east wing. Over three months, Samuel uncovers evidence of memory manipulation experiments led by Dr. Reed, who is systematically erasing patients' identities and replacing them with fabricated ones. When Samuel gets too close to the truth, the doctors confine him as a patient, claiming he suffers from delusions. With help from sympathetic nurse Annie Davidson, Samuel escapes and locates Elizabeth, who now believes she is "Caroline Weber." As he tries to reawaken her true memories and escape, they're discovered by Nurse Brandt, forcing Samuel to make desperate choices to save his sister before she's transferred away permanently.
