C.S. Singer's novel unfolds in the exploding, social world of pickleball, where players come together on the court escaping, or hiding, their personal lives for a brief time to enjoy the fast paced, stress-reducing game with other folks they may, or may not, know. The story centers on Eve Petra, a spirited and successful real estate agent in West Palm Beach, FL, who shares a love for pickleball with her close-knit group of friends. Among them are her partner Jason, her best friend Liv, and Liv's husband Mack. The story starts with a lighthearted tone of friends living happily in their personal and professional lives, unaware of the darkness creeping to the surface that will derail their idyllic existence.

Eve's life is finally perfect, filled with laughter, love, and success. Her life begins to unravel when her young assistant, Ashley, suddenly disappears after sending an eerily vague text message about starting a new life. Ashley's mysterious exit ignites something in Eve—an uneasy fear deeply rooted in a dark and secret past she has fought hard to bury. Though she never confides in anyone about the trauma she endured, it becomes clear through Eve's reactions and growing anxiety that her past is catching up to her. Meanwhile, new tensions arise as Brandon Black, a powerful investor with predatory tendencies, enters her professional world, and Eric Nickels, a charismatic pickleball pro, begins showing suspiciously pointed interest in Eve, much to Jason's discomfort. As past dangers begin to resurface and dark memories emerge, Eve recognizes the signs of human trafficking that threaten to crumble her carefully built walls.

The novel weaves light-hearted scenes of pickleball and friendship with mounting suspense, emotional trauma, and resilience. Surprising twists add to the turmoil, making it difficult to know who to trust. As Eve battles her internal fears and external pressures, Zero Zero Two evolves into a tale about more than just pickleball, but about the strength it takes to confront long-buried pain. Ultimately, it is a story of survival and the slow, painful journey toward forgiveness — of others, and of oneself.
