Candide the Tenth is a catalog of modern disasters witnessed by the contemporary descendant of Candide the First. The eighteenth-century Candide could do little to remedy the ills of his day. Can we use our vastly greater knowledge to extricate ourselves from the age-old habit of producing human debacles? The twenty-first century Candide and his creator, Mike Sharpe, invite us to consider the possibilities and responsibilities that are ours for the taking.
