Many philosophers have written books seeking to answer the question: what is philosophy? So, this is my book providing my answer to this question and giving my contribution to that scholarly discussion. And, of course, I might say that there is no one right or wrong answer to that question, but that you are sure to find some interesting thoughts and to grow and develop as a scholar by considering my arguments even if you do not agree with them; however, the question of whether or not there is one right answer to this question, or to any question, is precisely one of the areas which philosophy studies, and one can engage in that debate and take the opposite position, that one right answer does in fact exist, and I could say that my answer is the right one; I, however, am far too modest to ever claim that my answer is that one, although I like my ideas and I think you might find them useful, too. Philosophy answers a specific set of questions, some of which are, what is philosophy, how does it work, and what does it seek to accomplish, and has it succeeded or failed at its proper goals over the course of the history of philosophy; this book dives into all of those topics.
