2010: Fashion photographer, Sydney Meredith, receives an unexpected phone call from a Santa Monica hospital, requesting that she rush to the bedside of a comatose woman she doesn't know. The woman has listed Sydney as her next of kin.

But who is this woman? And how does she know Sydney? When the hospital persists, Sydney is overcome with curiosity and flies to Santa Monica.
