Carmen is consulted by a woman who gave birth in Madrid, but the doctors told her the baby girl died. Twenty years plus later she finds that this has happened to many women who believe their babies are not dead, but were stolen. Carmen continues her investigation, and we learn the story of one such baby as she grows up and has children of her own; and we meet her parents, both natural and adoptive. Of course, the doctors and nurses were only doing God's Work, Opus Dei.
