The Moment Light Begins is, in a word, Birth. Or, to give birth, dar la luz in the very apt Spanish. Carmen is consulted by a woman who gave birth in Madrid, but the doctors told her the baby girl died. Twenty years plus later she finds that this has happened to many women who believe their babies are not dead, but were stolen. Carmen continues her investigation, and we learn the story of one such baby as she grows up and has children of her own; and we meet her parents, both natural and adoptive. Of course, the doctors and nurses were only doing God's Work, Opus Dei.

Jesús as the new gangster expert is consulted about the kidnapping of Belladoña. Pepe is inadvertently involved and taken hostage. Now there are TWO kidnappings. Plenty of work for investigators, although the Guardia don't seem overly keen to find Pepe, but Alma is on the job.

Carmen discovers a new discipline when it comes to a badly behaved Guardia in Pueblo – she calls in his mother. Hilarity and schadenfreude follow.

Someone who joins his own mother unexpectedly is el Sapo, the hero of Spanish policing. By his mother? To be disciplined, perhaps? The head of Granada Guardia Civil pops his clogs, or boots. Had to happen. Who will take over?

Love Energy Central gets interesting when bilious Bill the paedophile turns up. He's a clone of some sort on a mission. Investigation needed. What is he? What is he doing?

Also Juan2 in his parallel life is forcefully invited to impregnate two women. Guess who comes to his rescue.

One funeral, one Fiesta – Fiesta de la Madre – three kidnappings and no weddings (just a couple dodgy marriages.)

And Topics for Discussion of course.
