With the opening of the new lounge at Trieste cruise terminal looming, Bogdan, an unaccompanied teenage refugee from the former Yugoslavia, is at risk of losing his job when his boss is forced to close the business.

But although his future in Italy is at stake, all he can think about is James, a mysterious, lonely young man who frequents his bar every mid morning.

Until James leaves his jacket at the bar one night and Bogdan secretly follows him with the excuse of returning it. Will the lessons that Bogdan shall learn about himself as a result end up helping or hindering his prospects in life? And who will stand up for him when he's faced with a guaranteed deportation order to a war torn country where he no longer belongs?
