Throughout my upbringing, I received constant reminders of my differences. In a
country still rebuilding, being mixed-race meant always standing
out, never fully belonging. I spent years trying to make sense of who
I was, torn between two cultures and searching for a place where I
could simply exist—without explanation, without judgment.
