In Yorubaland, "Esikanrin" are the tiny flies that hover over long forgotten foods kept carelessly by dirty people especially inside their house ; no matter how you try to keep them away, they are adamant until you remove the dirt over which they circle endlessly and throw it away. No wonder, the flies become a figure for the people in revolt against the average African politician : those who keep the dirt also hate the flies it brings! What a paradox!
This dramatic piece, ESIKANRIN, has been tested both as a script and a stage play meeting the urgent sanitary needs of the average African politician and the people they oppress in two of Nigeria's best universities - University of Ilorin and the University of Ibadan respectively.
