The criminal justice and civil justice systems in many countries, such as the USA, are based on an adversarial and confrontational system. This has led to some very unpleasant outcomes.
Similarly, the political system of many countries, such as the USA, are also based on an adversarial and confrontational system. The outcomes are often not only unpleasant, but can also be very dangerous.
In today's world, seemingly intractable wars have erupted all over the world. In particular, in recent years, there are the ongoing Ukraine-Russia war and the vicious Israel-Hamas war.
Unfortunately, for many of these wars, self-defense has become the blatant excuse for naked aggression, and support for self-defense has literally become support for terrible massacres.
The future of humankind is bright if we can jump out of the straightjacket of narrow nationalism and the over-simplistic and distorted notions of democracy.
