In addition to dealing with squabbles and dust-ups between the members of his own crew, Derek is forced manage a growing tension between the miners and the United Council Guard, the onsite military presence stationed at the site to protect the interests of the Corprigovernments

Remotely monitoring the storm of political turmoil back on Earth, which could potentially cause serious, if not deadly conditions at the site, while trying to track an unknown, deep space object that seems to be heading directly for the planetoid, Derek must find a way to save his crew, his site, and his own sanity
