This book is not a paired step by step biography in any way of these two mysterious kings. Their individual stories have been told again and again in more ways than the world cares to hear. However, the world is yet to read a new narrative that ties together the lives of Elvis Presley and Michael Jackson. The people and circumstances that surrounded the lives of these two music icons are different but similar when viewed much more closely.
If we go a little bit further back, then it's astonishing to see just how much the individual backgrounds of Elvis Presley and Michael Jackson scream out something we had not noticed before as far as rags to riches stories go. The mystique void that was their impoverished childhoods will help explain the sort of unusual talent and implausible chance that would allow them to rise to stardom despite both been very shy and socially withdrawn children of the mid-20th century American working-class heartland.

This is the comparative story of the people and circumstances that helped two very unlikely boys step out of obscurity into the shimmering spotlight as the king of Rock and Roll and the king of Pop respectfully.
