In the pitch-black darkness of a Dhaka alley, Billu Tokai runs frantically. Behind him, a CID team is in pursuit. He desperately tries to escape, but the officers don't back down.
"Stop! Stop right there, or I'll shoot!"—a commanding voice shouts from behind.
After a brief chase, the CID team finally catches Billu.
One officer slaps him across the face. "Where were you trying to run?"
With folded hands and tearful eyes, he pleads, "Sir, please let me go! I swear, I'll leave this city forever!"
Another officer, staring at him sternly, says, "Thinking of leaving already? First, tell us everything. Then we'll decide what to do with you."
Billu shakes his head rapidly and stammers, "No, no! I won't go anywhere!"
A firm voice declares, "You have no choice. Come with us."
Seeing no other way, Billu lets the officers drag him away.
Inside the interrogation room, Billu sobs in a corner. The CID officers stand around him. The door swings open, and ACP Raunak Hasan enters. Taking a seat, he speaks in a calm but authoritative voice.
"Billu Tokai, where is the ten lakh taka stolen from Dabir Khan's house?"
Billu quickly shakes his head and stutters, "Sir, I don't know anything! I didn't take any money!"
The ACP leans forward, his tone sharp. "You stole nothing? Then why were you near Dabir Khan's house on the night of the robbery? The CCTV caught you. Speak the truth—how did you do it?"
Billu protests again, his voice trembling. "I didn't do anything, sir!"
The ACP stays silent for a moment before speaking again, his voice grave.
"Then who did? If you didn't, what were you doing there that night?"
Suddenly, Billu lowers his head. His voice barely above a whisper, he mutters, "I'll tell everything, sir. I'll tell everything..."
[Flashback]
The night is deep. Sitting on the railing of an overbridge, Billu exhales a thick cloud of smoke. Right in front of him sits Lovely.
"Hey, give me that! One puff won't make you forget everything!"—she teases, snatching the cigarette from his hand.
Billu frowns, "Didn't I tell you not to smoke? And why are you out so late?"
Lovely smirks. "Then tell me—why do we even roam the streets at night? Will you feed me? How much can you even earn collecting bottles?"
Billu sighs, "Are you getting yourself into trouble?"
Lovely laughs. "Ha! And you act like a saint! We walk the same path, remember?"
Billu's tone turns serious. "If you stay with me, I'll keep you safe."
"Then will you marry me?"—she asks, narrowing her eyes.
"Marriage? Us? Street kids don't get married!"—Billu chuckles at the thought.
Lovely softly replies, "Then don't lecture me. Just help me find a decent job."
After a moment's thought, Billu says, "Come on, I'll take you to a scrap dealer. Maybe we'll find something."
Just then, Billu's phone rings. He glances at the screen and frowns.
"Ugh! Why is the boss calling so late?"—he mutters.
He answers, "Hello, boss! Not now. Let's meet in the morning."
Cutting the call, he takes Lovely's hand and vanishes into the darkness of the alley.
Sitting by the roadside, Billu eats stale bread and a banana. Just then, Tokai Tipu approaches him.
