Amalia Therald, driven out of her kingdom by the Archprelate of Junandar and labeled as an aberration and a threat to the realm, has taken refuge in the Outer Kingdoms. With her captain and consort Destrick and her half-sister Glorianna, she resolves to find a way to defend her people from the real threat - an encroaching evil whose designs stretch much farther than Aetheria's borders.
