CURIOUS FACT SAMPLES:
Kim Kardashian first gained media attention as a friend and stylist of Paris Hilton. However, she became more widely known after a sex tape with her then-boyfriend, Ray J, was released in 2007.
Kim Kardashian's father, Robert Kardashian, was a lawyer who represented O. J. Simpson during his murder trial, and Simpson was also Kim's godfather. Her father died of cancer in 2003.
In her early career, Kim worked as a stylist for singer Brandy, but her mother, Sonja Norwood, alleged that Kim and her sisters made over $120,000 in unauthorized purchases on her credit card. Kim has denied all of the allegations and eventually settled the lawsuit out of court.
After her 2003 sex tape was leaked, Kim sued Vivid Entertainment, the distributor, but then dropped the suit for a reported $5 million, giving them permission to market and sell the tape. The sales from the tape reportedly generated almost $1.5 million in the first six weeks.
