Utilizing primary ethnographic evidence from Hudson Bay and documentary evidence pertaining to other regions of the Arctic, the author examines the practice of Inuit adoption. The conclusions of this study have significant ramifications with respect to understanding Inuit social organization and kinship. Published in English.
