Orlando: A Biography is a 1928 novel by Virginia Woolf. It tells the tale of Orlando who, born in the era of Elizabeth I, undergoes a mysterious sex change when he is 30 years old, and goes on to live for more than 300 years without ageing. Inspired by the history of Woolf's one time lover, Vita Sackville-West, Orlando, A Biography has become a feminist classic, and has been adapted several times for stage plays and films.
