As human beings, we chase things, deceiving ourselves that once we get them, we'll have true satisfaction and joy. But when we get those things, that person, that salary, we are bluntly reminded that people and things don't provide inner joy. Why? Inner joy comes from someplace else. Inner joy comes only from the Lord.

Some of you have been in a season of struggle. Some of you are just now emerging from a "dark night of the soul." Some of you are walking through "the valley of the shadow of death" so to speak. But you know what? "There will be joy in the morning."

Psalm 30:5 (KJV) says this: "Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning."

Yes ... there will be joy ... in the morning. As a child of God, you must cling on to that hope—that joy will come. It will eventually come. In that same Psalm (30:2-3, 11), David says this (NIV):

2 Lord my God, I called to you for help, and you healed me.
3 You, Lord, brought me up from the realm of the dead; you spared me from going down to the pit.
11 You turned my wailing into dancing; you removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy.

Don't give up. There is a morning that is coming. And there will be joy in the morning.
