The eighth story in the Chosen to Serve series focuses on the issue of women being public leaders in the Lord's church. The Scriptures obviously forbid it, but it is widely accepted and supported anyway. The question is why? And how? What are the arguments put forth to explain away what the Bible clearly says?
Jimmy is sent to a young lady in seminary, preparing to become a pastor. As it happens, the young lady is a friend's granddaughter. Jimmy struggles to connect with TJ due to the age difference and a world of social and cultural disparities between the two. As the Lord would have it, both TJ and Jimmy grow in Him as a result of sharing views and faith.
The story is a critical and intriguing discussion on how we look at the Bible itself, because how we do that, determines in very large part, how we live as a result.
Is God's Word timeless and eternally applicable? Or does the Bible really contain "Outdated Cultural Depictions?"
