No other subject so clearly reflects our spiritual poverty, sluggishness and lack of strength, and nothing shames and humbles us more, than the subject of our prayer life.

This book is first and foremost about the remarkable and challenging example of this one Person, the Lord Jesus Christ, whose prayer life is described in most detail in the Gospel of Luke. But it also taps into the lives and experiences some impressive characters from the Bible and church history.

If anything can motivate and inspire us to give prayer the proper place in our lives, it is the moving accounts of the prayer life of the true Servant and Son of God while He was walking here on this earth.
