BetaThanPaper Productions presents a collection of three short stories by South African authors, presented in the Afrikaans language:

Krismis in die Vrystaat: It's the Festive Season and you would rather be lying on the beach, but on the farm something is ravishing the chicken coup and your son can't control his over-active hormones. What do you do? Well, you make yourself a pot of coffee, load your rifle and sit till the early morning hours waiting for the chicken thief to arrive...

My Neighbor: A raw and unflinchingly honest portrayal of one poor white Afrikaner boy's struggle for acceptance and friendship. Set in a poverty-stricken South Africa, having a new neighbour becomes at once a status symbol for the one boy, a source of fascination and a trail to man hood.

Verraad in die Blou Deiptes:Frans lives with his brother – Dryk - on his boat. Although Dryk is much older, he always makes the wrong decisions. Frans, on the other hand, is most responsible for his age. During a gambling game Dryk almost loses his boat, due to a lack of money. Frans then saves the boat with all his saved up money and is hence very upset.

Frans goes to the harbour to sketch, where a couple of street kids attack him, but Skollie, the school bully, is defeated and they begin to form a friendship.

Meanwhile, Dryk and a friend want to dive for treasure in the hold of an old, sunken pirate ship. That's when the betrayal begins. Dryk's friends are planning something behind his back, and it is up to Frans to come to his brother's rescue...
