As she takes command of the Endeavour, the most advanced ship in the Compact Navy, she is handed the mission of a lifetime: Convince the Sovereign of the Gelt humanity is not His people's enemy. To do this, she will bring an emissary to announce His predecessor's murderer is no longer president, hand Him the means for His species to reverse their declining lifespans, and gift Him with quantum entanglement drive, which allows ships to move instantly across interstellar space. To accomplish this, she will need all the Children of Amargosa at her side, including JT Austin as her first officer.
