Jem Young is still healing from his vices, but he's determined to dedicate everything he has to his two kids. He's ready to move forward on his own, and he's got the house and responsibilities to prove it.

But yes, he's still lonely, and one morning, he texts his only single brother with a dating pact: They each need a date before the family luncheon in a few days.

Jem knows who he wants to ask—the same woman he asked out last summer: Sunny Samuelson. He dated her in high school too, and now that she's moved back to small-town Coral Canyon, he can't think about anyone else.
