She ignored it.
As a scarred, reclusive courier for the rebel Keepers, duty enabled hiding from life, grief, and lost trust. She, the longest surviving courier, would let someone else save the nation's promise while she traveled with her beloved horse, Doppla.
Even the military and Dioptric Ministry's spies overlooked the broken woman with a healing gift who dressed in rags.
Then, suddenly, every faction in Carrdia pursued her.
On the run, to survive she must discover why, and discover why the handsome seer awakening her heart is helping her. Is Maniff leading her to safety or to those wanting her life?
Is she brave enough to untangle the conspiracy wanting to consume, not just her, but an entire nation?
The bitter truth is that she's the worst, but only, person for the task. To save Carrdia and the withering Keepers, she must manage her reticent nature, uncover truths, and live to report to the Keeper leadership.
All while her heart hangs in the balance.
Trust in the Forgotten is the first of seven books in the Kovenlore Chronicles series on the World of Ontyre. This historical tale on another world includes a diverse cast of characters (including LGBT+), along with adventure, mystery, romance, and suspense. It's a story of magical realism set against a vivid backdrop. There are wizards, witches, and sorcerers, but also partials, those with specialized gifts. Beside cirque cats and mammoths are demons and werewolves, and the dreaded Ministry of Magic practitioners.
But what matters most of all, is that it's a vivid tale about people working together, about compassion, about unlikely love.
