Widowed and lonely, Lee Jenneway has had it with men and wants to try dating women instead. But coming from a strict upbringing, she's uncertain how to go about doing such without exposing herself to scandal in a small town. Enter Daisy Mae van Bijler who possesses all the confidence and daring that Lee wishes she had. Unfortunately, Daisy turns out to be a con-artist hired to blackmail the lonely widow into signing away her property.

Fearing public infamy may be the least of Lee's worries, since the people Daisy is connected with happen also to be ruthless killers who are after what is hidden on Lee's property and will stop at nothing to get it back. Lee's only hope lies in heavenly assistance, which arrives in the form of a young angel named Gracie who gets private investigator Nick Jonas involved in helping Lee turn the tables on the bad guys. It may even turn out that Lee herself is the one who has to save Daisy.
