CURIOUS FACT SAMPLES:

John Mulaney was born on August 26, 1982, in Chicago, Illinois. Both of his parents were lawyers, with his mother teaching at Northwestern University and his father working as a partner at a law firm.

Mulaney's parents are of Irish Catholic heritage. His maternal great-grandparents include a Republican mayor and congressman from Salem, Massachusetts, and an immigrant from County Mayo, Ireland.

At the age of seven, Mulaney was a member of a children's sketch group called "The Rugrats". He also had the opportunity to audition for the role of Kevin in "Home Alone," but his parents declined.

In junior high, Mulaney would perform skits instead of doing reports with his best friend. He also frequented the Museum of Broadcast Communications to watch archived episodes of shows like "I Love Lucy" and "The Tonight Show".
