FAST & FURIOUS

THE ULTIMATE TRIVIA AND CURIOUS FACTS COLLECTION

CREATED BY TRIVIA HUB

The Fast & Furious franchise is an American action series centered on street racing, heists, and spies. It began with The Fast and the Furious (2001), based on a magazine article about underground street racing. The series evolved from street racing to heists with Fast Five (2011). The franchise includes films, short films, a television series, and theme park attractions. The series has become Universal's biggest franchise and is the eighth highest-grossing film series of all time, with over $7 billion in revenue. The franchise has had a diverse cast and wide audience appeal.

CURIOUS FACT SAMPLES:

The Fast & Furious franchise began with the 2001 film "The Fast and the Furious", which was inspired by a 1998 Vibe magazine article called "Racer X". The film's concept involved an undercover cop infiltrating the world of street racing in Los Angeles.

Vin Diesel initially declined to return for the sequel, citing an inferior screenplay, and director Rob Cohen also passed on the project, leading to a standalone sequel with Paul Walker in the lead. John Singleton was brought in as the new director for the second film.

"The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift" was originally conceived as a standalone film with no original cast members, but it introduced the character Han Lue and later brought Vin Diesel back for a cameo. The movie shifted the series focus to car enthusiasts and filming outside of the United States.
