Tomáš Garrigue Masaryk (1850-1937) was a Czechoslovak statesman, progressive political activist and philosopher who served as the first President of Czechoslovakia from 1918 to 1935. He is regarded as the founding father of Czechoslovakia.
The Masaryk's essay The Slavs among the nations, which we propose to our readers today, is taken from a public lecture organised by the Institute of Slav Studies, under the patronage of the University of Paris, delivered by the Moravian activist and philosopher on the 22nd February 22, 1916.
