In Manhattan, revenge unfolds to become tragic!
Otto Von Schmidt, a Polish baker, his young wife Minna, and their daughter Megan, made the difficult decision to leave Poland for a new beginning. Anxious to escape their country and its lack of individual liberties, they follow countless other immigrant dreamers to the shores of America to become tangled up among the haves and have-nots in a rapidly evolving society.
Otto hits the ground running, racing for a piece of the American dream, and quickly comes to be known as one of the most talented bakers in Manhattan. In a short time, he's able to open his own bake shop. The beautiful and talented Minna's unmatched skills as a seamstress make her a household name in the community. But lurking in the shadows is a series of tragic events that ensnare the Schmidt family in a web of personal vengeance. As they become associated with unsavory politicians who follow their own rules, and allow Daniel Dangerfield, a well-known banker, and Alexandro, a handsome Spaniard, to become intertwined in their lives, the family's livelihood begins to unravel.
