Chance is working himself to an early grave, according to his club prez. What else is he supposed to do? He has his family to provide for and bills to pay. Since his father walked out on them, and his mother became ill, work is all he's ever known. Until he takes advice from his club brothers and steps outside his comfortzone, and into a coffee shop, and meets a very chatty, pretty woman. Chance isn't sure what to think of the barista, yet is drawn to her. Does he want to take a chance?

Evelyn is a little over the top at times, and a little self conscience; although many wouldn't know it. She is the way she is and always has been. Her pet tortoise, Hare, and her are a team against the world. When the world is closed out of the house. Making friends is hard, attracting a boyfriend is even harder. Evelyn finds Chance to be attractive with his quiet demeanor and full beard. Yet, does she want to try again? What if it works out? Evelyn's anxiety and exuberance can get the best of her at times. Will she scare him again?
