Judas had always been skeptical. He had been watching, waiting, piecing together strange inconsistencies. One night, he followed Jesus to his tent and, under the cover of darkness, found something—an unusual device unlike anything from their world.

It had buttons that glowed faintly and a curved screen with indecipherable symbols.

Judas touched it—and vanished.

Seconds later, he reappeared, but everything had changed. The air smelled different. The torches had turned into bright glass orbs. He was no longer in ancient Judea. He was standing in the middle of New York City, 2037.
