Bear Hugs: A Book About Consent was written for the children who may not want to be hugged, and for the parents, grandparents, and friends who may need a gentle reminder in how best to approach them. It's the sweet, playfully-illustrated story of Banks, an exceptionally soft, fuzzy bear that isn't a fan of physical touch all the time. While other creatures in the forest may read her hesitation as being shy or standoffish, Banks teaches them that she enjoys greeting others in a variety of ways. Ultimately, the most important lesson that Banks teaches her friends is to ask for permission before giving her a hug.
