Evbu Isibor, the daughter of a poor but loving family, engaged to a respected member of the community, seems destined for a secure if unexciting life. But her longing for a further education is suddenly revitalised when she meets Jide Jones, a Lagos boy who encourages her aspirations and affection. Taking her future into her own hands Evbu embarks upon a journey that is to lead her into an alien world which shatters all her beliefs about herself.
